Who we are

The Chiefland Star Party Group was founded to promote astronomy at the Chiefland Astronomy Village and to bring back the Fall Star Party that had not been held in Chiefland for several years.  The Fall Star Party was held on the back fields owned by John Novak and Tom Crowley from 2009 - 2014.  After a number of the properties have changed ownership, it was decided that the Fall Star Party would return to the original Billy Dodd Memorial field in 2015.  The CSPG is still open on the rear fields and is open to all members.  Membership is $45 to join and $30 per year to renew. The field is open new moon weekends (see dates below) and is primarily astro-imagers, but all astronomers are welcome. There are several permanent observatories on site as well as 30A/50A electric and water hookups.
