Chiefland, Florida is located almost due west of Gainesville about 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.  Chiefland is in the county seat of rural Levy County.  If you are using a navigation system or would like to use Google Maps, Mapquest, or any other online mapping solution use the following address to get your route to our observing field.

Chiefland is one of the best dark sky locations in the eastern US.
